Tech Tips
Did you know:
Often parts traditionally produced on expensive and troublesome progressive dies can be produced in a more cost effective manner with less expensive tooling in a compound die.
Utilizing compound stations within a progressive die will assure the best possible concentricity of critical part features.
Coined features can be produced in several different ways: within a progressive die; with one hit in a compound die; even more complex shapes can be coined with one hit on an existing blank in a separate coining process.
Often times, edges similar to fineblanking can be produced by coining a traditionally blanked part. This can drastically reduce tooling cost and maintain competitive production costs.
Compound dies can be used to perform several different stamping functions at one time, ie: blanking and drawing; blanking and coining; blanking multiple complex shapes.
